Powder coating or powder coating is the most common coating process, especially for steel and aluminium. After a careful surface pretreatment, the powder coating particles are applied, whereby all RAL colours are available. Special colours are available on request, depending on quantity. Our plant is designed for products up to a size of 800 x 800 mm.
Vibratory grinding / Barrel finishing:
According to Walther Trowal, which advanced this process decisively, the vibratory grinding or vibratory machining, also called trowalizing, serves different purposes depending on the field of application, such as deburring, polishing, matting, grinding or rounding. Your workpieces – bent, milled, turned or stamped parts – are further processed in a particularly gentle manner, including subsequent drying.
Our proven vibratory grinding systems are suitable for all batch sizes, from small to very large quantities. The most frequently used grinding wheels, grinding sizes and grinding geometries are directly available in our warehouse for the next application.
Not least in the finishing of metal parts, production is broadly based. Our competencies range from drilling, thread cutting, grinding and eroding to various riveting processes. At Konnex, sandblasting work is carried out both as an automated process step and manually for surface finishing. For additional machining and forming processes, we have been working with specialised subcontractors for many years. This enables us to offer well thought-out solution packages for all common manufacturing processes.
With 17 machines from 5 to 200 tons press force in our production, the punching and forming of wire and sheet metal parts is one of Konnex’s core competences. But we are also prepared for even higher requirements: Konnex cooperates with suppliers who have machines up to 500 tons press force.
Our machine park (partly with feed device and straightening machine) currently includes:

Bending, also known as bending forming, is mostly used for forming sheet metal. But we also bend solid or hollow workpieces in our production with high precision. The same machines are used as for punching.
Zinc die casting:
With four zinc die casting machines from 25 to 130 tons clamping force, one of them with robot arm, Konnex executes customer orders for small and large series of different casting alloys. Here we can process component sizes up to 350 g.
Forming is one of the supreme disciplines of mechanical processing. Here, the materials are purposefully brought into a different shape, which requires the most precise knowledge with regard to the clamping force and breaking strength of the materials and the acting forces. Forming is carried out with the machines described in the Punching section.
Tungsten inert gas welding (TIG welding) is a so-called fusion welding process. The actual welding takes place via a tungsten electrode, while the inert gas serves as a shielding gas which protects the molten metal from the influence of oxygen. This results in a particularly stable bond between the fused workpieces. By precisely matching the current strength and dosage of the filler metal to the respective task, we can ensure a high-precision and qualitatively flawless welded joint in TIG welding.
In stud welding, an arc is ignited between an end face of the stud and the workpiece. Both parts are locally melted and then joined under low contact pressure.
Injection moulding of plastic:
We demonstrate our comprehensive know-how in the encapsulation of metal parts on several injection moulding machines with clamping forces from 88 to 168 tons, which are part of our machine park. We process all common plastics, even with additives, according to customer requirements. Thanks to our many years of experience in sourcing, we can draw on local as well as European or US raw materials.
On our 4 injection moulding machines we process both plastic articles and metal-plastic composite articles up to a maximum weight of 0.35 kg and a size of approx. 250 × 250 mm.
In deep drawing, we form workpieces by means of tensile pressure. This makes it possible to form flat sheets into hollow bodies or to change the cross-section of existing hollow bodies. The process is suitable for steel and aluminium, for example shells – depending on geometry up to a maximum depth of 15 mm.
Through many years of cooperation with various electroplating companies, which galvanize parts blue and yellow as rack or drum goods, Konnex can offer its customers high standards also for galvanized parts. We can also supply chrome-VI-free galvanizing processes as a replacement for yellow galvanizing. Zinc plating is possible with or without thick film passivation.
In addition to galvanizing, Konnex also offers high-gloss or matt chrome-plated surfaces.
